Planning to Retire Soon!

If you are planning to retire in the Philippines soon, I suggest you visit several excellent websites on pro's and cons of retiring in the Philippines. However if you want to retire in the provinces, where life is simple, standard of living cheaper, less traffic congestion and pollution, availability of fresh seafood and vegetables compared to the big cities, my island province is the place for you! If this is your first time in my site, welcome. Some of the photos and videos on this site, I do not own. However, I have no intention on the infringement of your copyrights. My Younger Years and the Beach House in the Philippines

Miko ( our pet dog) and I getting ready for our one KM morning walk on the Beach, 2012

One of the question I was often ask, during our meal time conversations here at THD, is whether I have plans to visit the Philippines again. My answer is I really do not know, because I will need help during International Travels. Moreover the Beach house in Marindiuque had been closed for more that 5 years now and my immediately family are all here in the US.

Some of my co-residents here are urging me to host and sponsor a tour of the Islands and me as the Guide. They told me I will be a perfect Guide, since I know about the life and tourists spots in the Philippines. I wish I could, but my current situation is not conducive to international travel. Suffice to say, the thought of going back to the Philippines for a long vacation, reminds of our experience residing in Marinduque for 3 months in 2012. The first month we did not have household help except for the laundry woman. However, Macrine and I survived and here's our story.

The Seven Swing States This Coming November Elections

More

WASHINGTON, MICHIGAN - APRIL 02: Guests attend a rally hosted by former President Donald Trump on April 02, 2022 near Washington, Michigan. Trump is in Michigan to promote his America First agenda and is expected to voice his support of Matthew DePerno, who is running for the Michigan Republican party's nomination for state attorney general, and Kristina Karamo, who is running for the party's nomination for secretary of state. Guests attend a rally by former President Donald Trump near Washington, Michigan on April 2, 2022. Voters across seven swing states will likely decide who ultimately ends up in the White House in January 2025: incumbent President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump.

In many states this November, the presidential candidate who snags the winner's share of electoral votes is unlikely to be a surprise.

But across seven swing states – stretching from the desert Southwest to the Upper Midwest and back down into the South – the outcome remains very much in play, and the 93 votes up for grabs are likely to decide who ultimately ends up in the White House come January: incumbent President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump.

What Is a Swing State?

A swing state, according to a by-the-book definition, is one that’s “considered to play a key role in the outcome of presidential elections” and where candidates of both the Democratic and Republican parties “have similar levels of support.” The group of swing states is often similar during each presidential election cycle, though factors like changing demographics and turnout can make a traditionally red or blue state turn purple. Georgia, for example, swung into the swing state category in the wake of Biden’s surprise victory there in 2020 and Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock’s election win in 2022.

Trump and Biden – both of whom have clinched their party’s presidential nominations – already have made swing states a priority of their campaigns, targeting them with visits and rallies as the election season steams toward Nov. 5.

Two Visits from Love Ones This Week

Ditas my youngest Daughter ( Washington DC) and Me- June 9, 2024

National Visit- Ditas my youngest daughter on official travel for the Bureau of Census💙💚 visited me from Sacramento for a few hours and joined me for brunch plus a 2-hour personal visit here at THD today. We were joined at brunch  by Lee Cruise, Bob Blattman and Steve Kamm. Needless to say our brunch topic was about politics- a topic I normally do not discuss in my blogs. I was able to introduce Ditas to Jay Pollack,  to Eric and and to to Teresa in the Front Desk also.
Ditas brought me a hanging flowers decor for my patio ( see photos below).

Thank You Ditas for your gift and short visit.

My second visit was from my oldest daughter, Dinah -a resident of Dublin:

She treated me to Yogurtland and also had a yummy delicious "froyo"  experienced.
Yesterday when Dinah visited me💙💚, she treated me to frozen yogurt. I had not enjoyed frozen yogurt for quite some time ( years) and this was my first time, I had it in a Self-Service place called Yogurtland. I had a yummy-delicious time enjoying their offerings. I had the tart mango, pistachio and another flavor, I love all of the flavors specially the tart mango.  For toppings, I had kiwi, blueberries, lychee and peach. There were more than a dozen toppings to choose.

Their web site says; Yogurtland is the leader in self-service premium frozen yogurt, providing fans an anytime beloved sweet treat for the whole family. Yogurtland exclusively uses real ingredients and scratch-made, handcrafted flavors from across the globe. The place we visited was in

1247 S California Blvd, Walnut Creek, CA 94596

Here are two photos the place:

My Message to the Younger Generations:
ðŸ’™ðŸ’šSpeaking About Visiting your Parents or Grandparents: Senior Citizens like me, who lives alone, no longer drives and has partial mobility problems most special need is once in a while get a chance to get out of our apartment just for a change of pace of our daily routine. My Daughter Dinah's visit and treat to Yogurtland is an example of this activity that is most appreciated and that no Money can buy.  I realized that all of you -the younger Generations have also busy lives with your own family and problems and work,  but if you can get a few hours once a month to visit/call your Senior Citizens Relative Residing in a Senior Community, I assure you it will be appreciated.   Your Senior Citizen Relative realized you are busy and have your own lives, so they will not initiate the visit/call normally unless there is a medical emergency,  There could be exceptions to my previous statement. But for me, I will not initiate the call or visit unless it is an emergency or I had no other options available.

Again, I am very appreciated of my two visits from Love Ones This Week! Thank You Ditas and Dinah!
