Tadd and Marko
Yesterday, I posted my top 15 TV Reality show. On the top of the list was So You Think You Can Dance. Last Thursday the winners of Season 8 were announced. Two Filipino-Americans won 3rd and 4th places. I am proud of Marko and Tadd accomplishments. More Power to Both of You in your dancing career. Below are some videos of the show. Enjoy!

The top Four

Although they didn’t get the top prize, performers Marko Germar and Tadd Gadduang are still grateful for the unprecedented support that the Filipino community gave them, when they competed in the finals of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

“Maraming salamat (Thank you),” hip hop dancer Gadduang said.

“I feel very blessed and grateful for all the support. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much”, jazz artist Germar added.

Melanie Moore, Marko’s original partner, bagged the “America’s Best Dancer” title.

In the show’s eight seasons, it was the first time that the top two male contestants are Filipinos.

More than 11 million votes were cast. Germar, who was the show’s top male contestant and 3rd overall, dedicated his achievement to his mother.

“She means the world to me, I mean she’s worked so hard to get me where I am today,” Germar explained.

Both are looking forward to new opportunities coming their way after their successful run on the show. They will soon start rehearsals for their next gig.

Marko said, “Now that it’s all over, I’m excited for the [SYTYCD] tour (in September). Don’t forget to purchase your tickets”, Germar said.

Marko Germar, 22 years old, works as a dancer in Disneyland US and is an expert on Jazz. He is fondly called by his family "Kimboy". He trained since he was 10 at a dance studio where he learned Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, Ballroom and Gymnastics. Prior to the training, Marko already learned street Hip-Hop at the age of 7.

Tadd Gadduang

Tadd Gadduang is a 25-year old dancer from Salt Lake City, Utah. He began to dance at age 15 as a hobby, but eventually realized his passion for it after graduating from high school. Since he had no formal dance training like Marko, Tadd considers what he does "urban dancing." He is currently a second-year college student taking up Psychology. He learned Filipino Martial Art of Kali at the age of 6.

Tadd was 4th runner up. Melanie Moore won the title of America's Favorite Dancer and Sasha came in 2nd place.
